The Backstory
Funville is more than just an entertainment venue. It is the realization of a dream made possible by the M&T Bank Emerging Entrepreneurs Program at the University at Buffalo School of Management’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
Yolanda Fonville, the owner of Funville, was a member of the program’s 2023 graduating class. This 10-month intensive program is designed to help socially or economically disadvantaged business owners take their companies to the next stage of development. With the mentorship, business training, and community support from the program, Yolanda successfully launched Funville — a private-party entertainment venue in Buffalo.
Why Super Block?
When it came time to outfit Funville, Yolanda needed a standout feature — something eye-catching, interactive, and versatile enough to serve as the centerpiece of parties and events. She chose our Суперблок — but not in the traditional sense. Instead of using it as a coin-operated or card-operated game, Funville repurposed it as a karaoke stage.
The Super Block’s bold, modular design and illuminated blocks make it a natural visual centerpiece. Guests perform on or around the block, turning every song into a show. As a result, the Super Block appears in nearly every photo and video taken at Funville — making it one of the most “visible” installations we have ever deployed.
Key Success Factors
- Creative reuse – The customer saw beyond the original product concept and unlocked a new application: a performance stage.
- High visibility – Because the Super Block is integrated into the party experience, it appears constantly in social media posts, event photos, and guest videos — providing ongoing free promotion.

- Supporting local entrepreneurship – Funville itself is a success story of the M&T Bank Emerging Entrepreneurs Program, which has empowered over 400 entrepreneurs since 2004 and contributed over $2.3 billion to the local economy.

The Super Block is now a signature feature at Funville. It doesn’t just sit in a corner — it commands the room. Every party, every performance, every photo op highlights the block.
On April 20, 2026, Funville hosted an open house for the M&T Bank Emerging Entrepreneurs Program, bringing together alumni and prospective participants to celebrate the impact of Buffalo’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Super Block — serving as the karaoke stage — was right in the spotlight.
