Project Name: Lucky Strike
Location: 4th floor of a shopping mall at the center of a newly developed district
Project occupied area: around 2000 square meters
Project target customers: young people and students
Project theme: AR sports games and arcade games
The Lucky Strike AR sports center is located on the 4th floor of a shopping mall. That’s why the venue targets young people. It is a hybrid venue that combines sports, arcade games, and food, where young people can relax and proceed with social activities while having meals.
In order to attract more young people, the owner captured young people’s hobby of taking selfies and sharing them on social platforms, then paid more attention to the venue’s design, using different colors to distinguish each area combined with cool lighting design and fashionable decorations. It highlights youthful vitality and highlights the brand image.
The representative items include a tennis simulator, a baseball simulator, bowling, movable archery, darts, a boxing simulator, a bicycle simulator, and video basketball.
For leisure items, they install the shared PC game, table games, billiards, and karaoke.
In this case, I want to talk about the venue’s relationship with the shopping mall. Since there are more and more new shopping malls in China, the growth in the number of consumers cannot keep up with the growth in the number of shopping malls; therefore, the competition among them is very fierce. The shopping mall must continuously introduce new business formats to attract people to walk into their shopping mall and consume. That’s why the shopping mall chose the Lucky Strike sports center, which is new and popular business. In addition, the venue usually enjoys a good rent rate if it is chosen by the shopping mall. It’s a win-win deal.
Case 2
Project Name: No. 9 Karting
Location: 4th floor of a shopping mall
Project occupied area: around 1000 square meters
Project target customers: young people
Project theme: AR sports games and karting
The karting covers an area of around 800 square meters, which covers 80% of the venue. Therefore, it’s a karting theme park, and you can add some sports games complementarily to strengthen the sports theme and meet the varied needs of players.
The representative items include a golf simulator, a baseball simulator, a tennis simulator, a shooting simulator, and movable archery.
Compared with Case 1, this is a more sports-oriented brand, which is welcomed by the majority of young people, while the county encourages the business. The sports economy has ushered in a new development outlet, and I believe that more and more sports centers will be opened in the coming year.
Case 3
Project Name: Party King
Location: Central of the city
Project occupied area: around 3000 square meters
Project target customers: young people
Project theme: sports game, drinks and snacks
Camping is becoming more and more popular with families and young people during and after the pandemic, no matter whether in China or other countries. Therefore, if the Party King operator brings the camping site indoors, the camping activity can no longer be restricted by the weather, which will surely be welcomed by the majority.
The Party King combines camping, sports games, low-alcohol drinks, and famous snacks, which are all the most popular concepts. They do know that by only becoming a popular social venue, the venue makes continuous profits. Sticking to this core idea, the operator occasionally organizes different themes of parties, including the world-cup game party, cocktail party, PS4 gaming competition, werewolf killing game party, speed dating party, etc. Besides, they also focus on team-building businesses and customize or decorate their brands or company culture.
The representative items include a golf simulator, a baseball simulator, bowling, movable archery, darts, a bicycle simulator, racing arcade games, and VR arcade games.
With more entertainment content added, obviously their target consumers’ consumption level and age range are higher and wider than the previous venues’.
Last but not least, the venue applies a pass fee model with unlimited time, which is welcomed by consumers and is a brand new try in China.

Project Name: Xin Tiao Wan Jia
Location: Central of the city
Project occupied area: around 15000 square meters
Project target customers: young people, especially those who suffer from great pressure
Project theme: sports game, exciting unpowered devices, VR arcade games and arcade games
The venue encourages the players to take the initiative to challenge themselves in order to release their pressure. They combine the concepts of parent-child interaction, sports adventure, adventure competition, and social entertainment and divide the venue into eight areas.
Led by unpowered extreme sports devices like aerial swing, 30m snow track trapeze, rock climbing, 10m bungee jumping, spinning cars, and vertical devil slide, and with diversified projects with a sense of technology like ghost houses, VR arcades, sports simulators, and gaming machines, the venue succeeds in increasing its attractiveness to the young people who pursue fashion and new things and are willing to pay for them.
(Since there are so many extreme sports items, I suggest the operator paying much, much, much attention to the players’ safety.)
In order to improve the atmosphere, Xin Tiao Wan Jia uses a lot of dark gray and bright yellow hues, along with stainless steel, glass, and metal furniture. Neon lights are also used throughout, which is a typical cyberpunk style. Make the most of the 15-meter floor height, create layers in the design, defy expectations, and create a sizable immersive space.
Conclusion
The above four cases are focused on different positioning, and they all catch the latest and most fashionable trends and try to meet the various needs of their target customers. I can’t tell whether they are profitable or not, but at least they succeed in grabbing the attention of the investors, and they are willing to dig out their wallets to expand the business for them.
